Let me tell you a little 'History' of me and Alice... Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party!

Alice in Wonderland is my all time FAVORITE BOOK... and many years ago.. maybe 8 or so... maybe less... i did a round robin with my moderators. My theme was 'Alice in Wonderland'.  I never did set that quilt, but I have the blocks.

Including one from a dear friend that passed away.. so it's very special (even though she DID not follow my theme.. LOL!).

During August I"m going to share these blocks with you... take the new patterns I gave in the challenge AND my swap blocks.. I'll put them up on the design wall and maybe some magic will happen.

Maybe I'll even sew them together....

Tell me your plans!

I haven't started on my top yet, but ideas are just swirling around in my head.

My quilt may represent more of the book than just the tea party.  I spent way too much time reading the book this weekend.  I definitely want words, and I am trying to decide on those.  Fun, Fun!

I tried to organize a trip to Hershey, but no joy.  All friends are tied up and Dennis can't take time off.  Maybe next year!  Dennis would have been happy to go though.  We both love Hershey.

I've got my applique pieces cut out which has been a challenge since I have a 3 month old puppy who needs alot of watching that she doesn't go pee pee on my carpeting!   For some reason she thinks my sewing room is her pee pee room (the carpeting probably has the scent of our Betsy who passed away in June.  Betsy loved to sit under my sewing table while I was in there).  Tonight I will attempt to iron down the pieces.   I picked up some really neat, very bright teapot fabric at the local quilt shop the other day so I'm thinking maybe that will be the border.

oh how funny (sort of) your puppy loves your sewing room!  I need to see her!! Attach a photo here or just stick it in the flickr folder.. which ever is easier (here you can load from your computer).

I see a teapot IN the flickr folder!!

I HAD to go to my LQS today to drop off a quilt, and I came home with a wonderful bag of wild and wacky FQ's for the Tea Party quilt.  Now I just have to find time to start it.  I'm excited.

Thank you, Pat, for the fun.

I got my teapot, sugar and cream drawn off and fused today.  Hopefully, tomorrow I can cut the backgrounds and fuse them down.

Can't believe it is August already.

Finally, got my teapot and sugar and creamer stitched today.  Now off to embroider the words, and then start piecing the top.
