I only garden in pots, about 50 of them. My knees can no longer take the kneeling on the ground but I make up for it with abundant pots of flowers everywhere; the deck, between bays in the garage, elevated flower boxes and urns. Unfortunately, it is still too cold to even think about it. One year I was lulled into an early planting by the warm temps and lost everything with a spring freeze. They claim we shouldn't plant here until Memorial Day. It is not fair since it is sooooo beautiful out.

The rule here in NJ, and in the past NC, and TN was no planting and no putting away winter clothes until MOther's Day. So we are a bit earler than you. I did notice an influx of BENNIES here alread and they don't usually hit the shore until Mem. Day. (These are northerners to the shore on weekends and weeks in the summer).

Oh boy oh boy, it's suppose to get up to 70 here Easter weekend ( . My tiny double daffs may bloom some more after the freeze and snow they just got over the week end. One of my daughters is having the Easter dinner with the family and all the little ones,8, will love looking for the colored eggs in the yard. The plants I bring indoors for the winter are ready to dress up my front porch. ( I wish, not at least until Mother's Day around here)

How fun!! did you read the Easter memories from the hop contest... so fun to read! Many great memories are about the Easter Egg Hunt!
I have to get in more gardening/clean up before 4/15 when I go on travel for almost 2 weeks... weed maintenance!

Have some fun during your trips Pat. I would love to go to Paducah some time! Your gardens will be all new for you by the time you get back.

I finally made it out into the flower beds. All cleaned up and waiting for the blooms. I threw out a bunch of old wildflower seeds a couple of years ago into a bare patch. I forgot. Last year some huge leaved things were taking over so I kept cutting them off. I saw them sprouting while cleaning things up this year, but left them, at least they were green. Today I'm out admiring my handi work. Flower buds are on those big green leaved things. Can't wait til they bloom to see what I have. I don't reconize the leaf to tell right now.

I've never been to Paducah either.. so hard to believe!!!
I have SEVERAL things that I can not identify coming up... ugh!! I often spray things I don't mean to in my spring cleanup of the beds.
