Everybody be careful.... I just had a friend who used her old crock pot to make dinner.  She smelled something, but didn't think much about it and left the house for the day.  came home, had dinner,  still smelling "something".  When she went to clean up at the end of the meal, the heating element had slowly melted through the bottom shell and was close to dripping hot metal onto her countertop! Shocked  She was lucky!  I keep a heat pad under all my countertop appliances to prevent burning.

I received a new crock pot last year, and it got sooooo hot, made me nervous - turned it back in.  I got a presto fryer  for another occasion as noticed it had a warm feature - I have been using it as a crock pot turned real low but, have it on the flat top stove when using it.
Dang - that crock pot was RED too!!

Pat, I live alone and I asked for a small one.  I got a 1.5 quart and it is just right for 2...or in my case, one main meal and one of leftovers... Cheesy

Two pot roasts in my crockpot today.  One for the freezer, and one to eat.  We will have roast and veggies tonight.  Hot roast sandwiches tomorrow, and probably a shepherd's pie with leftover roast over the weekend.  Yum!  We haven't had a roast since early fall so I am really looking forward to it!

I have four crockpots of varying sizes.  I use them all depending on what I am making.  Some times several at one time!  Can you tell that I love my crocks!

Mine was huge too, and got so hot, I didn't think I'd use it, that's why I returned.  I would love one the OLD original crocks - it is still working, but I gave it away............... and they (daughter when she went to college) won't give it back!!
