hehe... I resemble that remark!!!!

Don't know if there will be any beginner kits 'just like mine' in 3 weeks.. I had 2 out of print fabrics in there so can only do so many. but you can email me to do a kit without those 2 and you find a nice substitute!

Hi Pat!  So I finished my first block (as shown in flickr) and I absolutely hate the colors.  They are totally not me so I am going to make that one into a mini and make another block with colors I like :-)

As for scissors, I am using kai applique scissors but the end is curved.  It is a royal pain in the behind to do the inside pieces when the curve goes the other way.  Longer scissors makes total sense so I am going to order some.  I also ordered your applique book :-)

Which scissors do you recommend?  I am currently using Lite steam a seam which I think hates me!  The stuff just does not stick for anything and I am wondering if I got a bad box or if others have this same issue.  Anyway, I am going to try your method and see how that works out!

Cya!

Also, the fabric we use for the applique, will that be repeated in the quilt somewhere else?

Lynn you crack me up!!!  your colors are fun and funky!! but is NOT YOU then do another by all means!!

1-I only use heat n bond light. I can cut away the inside for all but the smallest pieces (you'll see in my book). I can't get any steam a seam to work well enough for that technique.

2-There are 2 additional pieces, another light green (in the photo for my kit) and another orange used.. both small part.. rest are colors you see in this block

3- on scissors my favs right now are a super nice pair of clover with a 3" blade.. i don't have it's real name or part# .. i have to look it up.. clover sent them to me a few yrs ago. The dark green handle. I think your problem with cutting is the curved blade and the short blade.. either are difficult.

hope this helps!!!!!

Dear Pat,

It helps a great deal because now it means I "Need" to go shopping  Wink.  Working on this block has helped me get out of my slump and was just what I needed!
