Quilting retreat gains popularity

CEDAR CITY - More than 100 quilters have attended this week's Winter Quilt Retreat organized by the Cedar Chest Quilter's Guild.

"We really just take over everything," said Liz Jacomb, president of the local quilting organization. "It's just getting bigger and bigger every year."

Featuring a number of quilting classes and events, the retreat is at the Cedar City Crystal Inn. Today is the final day of the event.

Provo resident Sydney Imler said this year's retreat was her first, but she understands why the event is so popular.

"Everyone you talk to is so friendly and helpful," Imler said. "It's always fun to talk to people about quilting, and here it's like quilters' heaven."
