Rolling now I got a bunch done yesterday really on a roll! Need to find more embellishments. You should see the mess my sewing room is in, my cat wouldn't even come in and my husband took a peek in and just shook his head. The sidewalk cafe sounds really fun! I had thought about moulin rouge.... Hmm French menu.... wine?? beautiful parks in the city don't forget those can can gals I've Never been to Paris but I had a French teacher that was from France and very young, the boys in our class were all crazy in love with her LOL

Finally finished the quilt top. I added a green wine bottle in honor of the day and a few new elements. All of the rest of the embellishments will have to wait until after it is quilted. I will post what I have so far on Flickr. I can't wait to see what everyone else is doing.

wow -- What a great quilt. My brain has lots of ideas and printed out lots of pictures but that is as far as I have gotten. Guess I won't be in the contest - will try to work on it anyway because I would really like to finish it as memory of our 20th anniversary trip to Paris for 9 days in September 1973.
We flew all night to Orly and then had a driver to Concorde St Lazarre Hotel (right beside the railroad station). After unpacking we went across the street to a little seafood restaurant for the best sea bass I think I have ever had. The young waitress was so stressed by our nonFrench that the head waiter took over.
Then off to walk in the drizzling rain around Le Opera and through the night for a while. Back to bed and then walking and riding the trains all over the city for the rest of the trip. We did take a bus to Versailles. It had finally stopped raining over night but the sky was filled with dark clouds. After the tour we walked out to sunshine. I retook all of my photos.
The bus took us back to Paris and we had lunch at La Deux Magot across from St Germain des Pres, oldest Paris church.
Flew hom the next morning in full sunshine. Had a wonderful time anyway.

Thanks Karen. Good luck tomorrow on the knee surgery. It sounds like the rain didn't dampen your trip or your memories of Paris.

went from can can gals to haute couture LOL Paris is the fashion mecca so that's where my idea came from, love fashions and March was fashion week, found out that Haute Couture literally means elegant/high fashion sewing, but has come to mean the business of designing, so then my mind wanders a bit and starts me thinking about all the wonderful fashion designers and we quilters design things too so it was a perfect fit! I have the top done and can't wait to quilt it so I can add all the embellishing
