My DH doesn't usually do too bad though a couple of years ago he really wanted an ATV and after some negotiating between us, we went down to purchase it ... on my birthday.  Now he tells everyone it was my birthday present and wasn't that nice of him?  Roll Eyes I just laugh  Wink

I love those gift stories.

I once got a waffle iron from my husband for VALENTINE'S DAY! Very romantic!

Meeting swap buddies has been the best part of this swap so far! I can't wait for the real swap, but friends are always the best gift in life! Roll Eyes

Margi - The Maverick Crafter

HI all, am finally getting on the forum again to catch up!  I'm thinking I need to find a job that has less to do with network administration and more to do with crafting!  Yuppers, that is what I need.
I love all the chatter on gifts and whether or not to contact.  I love leaving that opportunity open to the individuals.  The entire swap can be secret smecret or ya'll can chatter.  Keep in mind, the person you are sending to isn't necessarily the person you'll receive from!  OOOOOHHHHH tricky little spring bunnies that we are hey! LOL
I'm waiting to have a DH that asks what kind of sewing machine I want next, guess I better find that DH first. LOL
I am anxiously awaiting this Friday for a break to see my next DH (yeah in my dreams), Johnny Depp, in Alice in Wonderland!  WOOOOO HOOO!
Have fun all!

Okay, after I read Margi's comment that she was "waiting to have a DH that asks what kind of sewing machine I want next".........I thought of something to reply and then said......nah.......and then I read Sharon's post and oh, did I laugh out loud. Yep, some days I would box him up and ship him off. Since he's not very tolerant of my fabric messes, I don't think anyone here would be the postage to receive him! Thank goodness, we have seperate workrooms. He has a shop that, as one neighbor pointed out...."you could eat off the floor in this place, it's so clean".  Ah, never boring around here. LOL!

Margi,

I too am waiting for Johnny Depp to come sweep me off my feet... and I am married (27 years) but he is the only one I could just leave my DH for.  a friend of a friend of mine was in Europe and Johnny Depp was coming out of a primeier of some movid he didi and she asked him for his autograph - he signed her arm - the next day she had it tattooed!  man, I so wish it was me.

on a quilting note - i can be a back-up angel if needed.  I have satrted colleving little goodies for my spring fling pal and because she is 'not from around here' I found a post card with the picture of Delaware on it... it has all kinds of tidbits of info about our wonderful little state...

Keep up the good work Margi on these swaps... I just love them.

Sandi, I like how you say you and your DH have separate work rooms .... your DH would have sympathy for mine as I've taken the office and turned it into basically my sewing room.  We have two little girls, so virtually his last bastian was the garage. Well, it was until last fall when I purchased a used long arm machine and set it up on the garage  Grin  He's been pouting so much that he has no more "man" space hold-out that we're going to build a shop this spring to move my longarm into and he'll have his own shop attached to mine. So ... I can't complain too much  Wink

Carrie -- love the postcard idea!  I'm gonna have to steal your idea!  I sent my Sweetheart swap buddy a Montana Huckleberry Chocolate bar as she lives in Sweden ... and another lady some Montana Moose Poop and some Montana Bear Doo Doo chocolates as she lived in North Carolina Smiley  But that's really neat with the postcards because they could get a picture of why I love it here.  Way cool!  (p.s. who needs spell checker when we can understand what you are writing any way?)

Wendy,
"Man" space makes me think of "Man's Land" which is what my husband calls his workroom. That comes from a friend who calls his wife's craft room......"No Man's Land". LOL! For some reason, my husband calls my sewing room "The Yarn Barn". I have tried to explain to him that I don't knit or crochet and that there is no yarn, only fabric in my room. He thinks "Yarn Barn" sounds cute so I have given up.
I would like a long arm but the only place there is room for it is in "Man's Land" and that will not fly. It might fit in our basement family room when it's finished but in the meantime, I want a new sewing machine. I've decided I will definitely put the sewing machine on my Christmas list and then my husband can go out and buy something for him of equal value. I think he will be so happy that I am thinking of him that way. LOL!

Wendy,
I think that was your voice I heard call in during Pat's radio show. Am I right?
