I just read on Annie Smith's blog that I won one of the Aurifil thread packs.  Woo-hoo!

Of course, I feel like a double winner.  I had taken Susan Brubaker Knapp's class, Surface Design Madness, a week and a half ago at the NC quilt symposium.  Her blog led me to Annie's blog and to Pat's blog.  And Pat's blog led me here.  I've been a member of an online scrapping community for a long time, but hadn't found a quilting one yet.  So my second "win" was discovering this community.  Thanks again all for the welcome.

whoo hoo... lucky for you! I love Aurofil to sew with. I notice more and more that people are also appliqueing with the thread as well..(I mean real applique by hand...just joking friends...LOL)

When I was following Pat with her last BOM I loved the effect that machine applique had on her designs and even picked up some applique Aurofil (machine) to try it...it is still on my list of things to do.. but will get there I promise...

Pat, I noticed under some of the numbers (colors) on the threads there was an R for "reactive" colors.  What does that mean?  I had gotten the color chart from you and I see it refers to washing rules or heat temps, is that right?  so does it also mean some can't be dried???  It looks like it is only under the varigated ones, how come?

Yeah Janice!!!

Linda on the color card of Aurifil Threads on the fold open,, there are 'washing rules' (love the translation!)

R has a max temp, do not use chlorine, max ironing temp, etc.....
