Shirley, It was when everyone was talking about Dear Jane, Sylvia, Elm Creek & this one Farmer's Wife. I didn't really know what they were so googled them all. Seems like you were the only one wanted to do Farmer's Wife?
Pat, I've been reading this little conversation over on flickr. You girls are cracking me up. Am I gonna be kicked out if I just follow along?

I just got the book and now I know what I am using it for.. this will be a great incentive to get cracking on. I think I will be making this very scrappy due to the many scraps that I just really need to use up. I love the name Mistress so much better than Wife!! great imagination girls just love it!!

Have a great day, Shirley!!
I've got a ton of Thimbleberries - I may just start cleaning up that little area - Sunny Boy loves to root around just when I've picked them up & put them in a pile (it was overflowing!)

If I missed your deadline I will just hop on over to Amazon and order the book. I am very excited about this one. I am planning to do it a little like a diary quilt. A block a day or maybe every other day if one a day is too ambitious. I think I will call mine The Farmers Daughter since that is one of my Daughters favorite songs right now. I am definitely goiing to do it in bright contemporary fabrics. I will for sure put some of my Pat Sloan Georgia in it!

OK, I can't leave one topic of the forum alone. I tried. Sooooo since I don't want to start another thing, I'm going to work on Sylvia's Wedding quilt that I've only collected backgrounds for the 6" blocks. I'm gonna start this weekend with block one. Son I'm not a mistress (don't wanna be ever), but I'm a Sylvia!

So, are we cheating on Dear Jane? Count me in on this one. As long as there is no set in stone deadline,it can never be a UFO.

Barbara - love your no deadline, no UFO policy! Will hunt for the book as my reward for finishing LotL - which HAS a deadline! Then I'm in there pretty quick with my stash. Do we need the templates? I'm gonna have to do some browsing/procrastinating with this one

So if you "cheat on Dear Jane" does that make you a mistress?

I just know I'm gonna get pulled in!
Hey to the new members I don't know yet! Good to have you here.
I really really loved the fabs Happy Zombie used, but am I right, that's her fab line & it's not out yet? But there was another one that was using beautiful 1910-1930's fabs & they are gorgeous.
IF I WERE PLAYING don't know what I'd want to use yet. Will keep looking at everyone elses & maybe get inspired.

I know I said my huge pile of Thimb fabbies, but how adorable would it be in the 30s fabbies??!!! Like using the old flour sacks - that the farmer brought home, right?
