Wow!!  Love hearing that!  We have several alpaca farms around here to, and I just love them.  Are you a knitter?  there is a thread for that too on this forum.  I have maltese dog hair saved a little from all of them that I've ever had, that I was saving to have spun.  I'm hoping to make just a scarf some time as rememberance to them all - isn't that silly!!

Yes, Linda, I do also knit. I don't think its funny at all that you've saved your beloved doggies fur for spinning. I've heard of alot of people doing that.
We just started shearing them a week ago and I'm up to my eyeballs in alpaca fiber right now Shocked

There is an aplaca farm in the area somewher and they brought a couple to display for the kids corn maze.  The lady had some of the fur spun and knitted and it was sooooo soft!  I'd love to work with it.  I think learning to spin would be fun too!  My MIL had a spinning wheel and a weaving loom piled up in pieces in her porch area but never set it up.  Last time we were there it was gone   Undecided  I would have loved to give it a try, but prolly for the best... it's not like I don't have enough to do or anywhere to put it!  :)LOL

I'll bet you are - one farm here, showed us how they do it - flip the alpaca on a board and it was over with before they knew what was really happening.

My ex also has some, love seeing the babies with little jackets on when it's cold - LOL!!

No, I don't have a blog, but I should have one. I've tried several times to add a photo, but it keeps telling me the file is too large. I'm not very computer-savvy  Cry Huh

yes use picnik to resize your photos.. most digital photos right out of the camera are too large for here.

you can load them to flickr and share the link here. Do you have a flickr account?
