the 15 minutes of play is for PURPLES this month.... all the purple scraps I have won't make a 12" block.... much less 12 of them!

How about swapping smaller... say 4 or 6" blocks?

So do they have to be purple or are they any color?

A group of 12 people making 12" blocks sounds good to me.

Also, I think we should make the multi-colored and scrappy - similar but different!  Shocked

Sign up now and have finished to mail to HM by May 15!  Shocked

Post photos before you mail them!  Right?

Hey I want in!

May 15 to have them mailed in to HM. Is that PUT IN THE MAIL BY MAY 15TH?

I think totally scrappy too or it would defeat the purpose of being IMPROV.

Also 12 blocks to finish at 12" sounds perfect. If anyone wants bigger, add in some plain patches or border the ones you get or something.

& we should keep it in Pat's folder since we're her gang. It could probably still be added to Victoria's later if wanted to.

Sounds like fun. Do we sign our blocks?

OK folks...

With Pat's permission I am organizing a swap for us mashup girls based upon the 15 min of play swap that Pat blogged about a couple days ago.

The Plan:

email me at madakamom@aol.com ... put 15 min block swap in the subject line and let me know your name address and phone number and desire to participate in the swap.

Registration to close on April 30

I will then break all those registered into groups of no more than 12

You can begin making blocks now if you want, but you won't know exactly how many you need to make until after registration closes....

Blocks are improv ... no specific color
12x12
unfinished

Send the completed blocks to me Post Mark dated May 15.
Please include a SASE (Self-addressed Stamped Envelope) to cover return postage
Once I have received everyone's blocks I will return a set of blocks to you.

Thea as many times as I've been to 15 min play site, I never realized they were working w/1 particular color per month. Will have to look again.

Hm, 12" unfinished, would be 11 1/2" finished, right?

Hope you can do your QOV Dixie so you can for sure play. I'm already thinking of stuff to try.

Linda guess you'll have plenty time when you get back.

ooops... sorry Thea, I guess I'm using the wrong terminology

your block should measure 12 inches

by unfinished... I meant NOT QUILTED

The picture in my mind for doing this is to make a mini 9-patch type block and put it in the center of a 12" piece of paper, then add strings or chunks around it to cover the paper and trim to 12 inches (RRCB style) Wink

Of course, everyone can make their block differently... that's the whole idea behind improv  Smiley
