Pat,   I have been playing (as you call it) Smiley on my lettering for HK.  It is coming along really nice,   My playing is 2-3 hours each evening.    I don't know why I am so slow.    May be the arthritis and the bad eyes.  Grin   Hope in about 4 more nights to finish that part and then on to the really fun part of the borders.     They really look fun!
Thanks again,    This is really getting me going.
Hugs,
Lyn

Since I've not done this before, please make suggestions if you know of a better way to do this! Smiley

Let's start by seeing how many want to participate

Anyone interested in participating in a swap

1.  email  me your name and address to my email
             madakamom@aol.com
please put 15 min block swap in the subject line

Can we do this by April 25... day after Easter... or do you want more time... say April 30?

2.  Once we know how many want to play... then I'll let you know how many blocks you have to make.

3.  I suggest we make 12x12 blocks... unquilted... then we can each use the blocks to design/include in our own quilts.

4.  Everyone send their blocks to me....
Please include a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) with the blocks so I don't pay all the return postage  Wink

5. Let's set an end date of May 1 to mail your blocks to me and once I receive from everyone I'll send a package back to each of you.

Does this sound like a good plan to everyone?Huh

HM,
Thank you so much for setting this up!  Kiss  Sounds like so much fun!  Cheesy

However, I will be having surgery on the 25th and would like to extend the date to mail blocks.  I know it is supposed to be a "quick" project, but I think mid-May (or earlier if you finish your blocks) would be better day to mail blocks.  Roll Eyes

Karen... I was thinking about that last night before falling asleep... if we don't close "registration" until April 30, then finishing and mailing blocks by may 1 is a bit much to ask Roll Eyes... so yes, changing the mail date to May 15 is a good idea! Smiley

Thanks!

I went to the tutorial, spent 15 minutes 'playing' with my purple scraps.... and then it was time to make dinner!  I have 4 small odd shaped pieces that in no way will make a 12" block!  I think this might be a 45 minutes MORE playtime to get to a 12" block!

Suggestion:  post pics first, THEN enter the exchange....  A group I was in a couple of years ago started out with 140 participants, and ended up with only 61 who came through with the blocks!  Have you ever designed a quilt with 61 blocks?

Thea,  That is a good idea to post photos!  Some swaps get some very poor results - we want our very best of work!  Kiss

Yes we can post pics... using Pat's folder would prolly be easier as it looks like there are only a few of us so far....Karen in Tuscon, Redhen, Thea and me.  We'll have to wait til  after Easter, April 25 to see if there are any others interested.

Thea, if there were that many people interested  Shocked I would suggest breaking into groups of 9-12 ... I couldn't imagine making 61 blocks! and 9-12 blocks would make a nice size quilt. Smiley

  Irish.....
If you choose to do this I need to know by april 30 and yes mail your blocks and you can post a pix in Pat's flickr folder linked above.

I'm asking that you email me privately at my email your info (name address .. maybe phone number too) and I will send back mine for you to mail me.  Once I receive blocks from all who are interested I'll mail them back out.

I'm thinking that we each make "x" number of blocks... one for each member participating (maximum of 12) and then you would receive that number of blocks back to make your own quilt.

Pat... main section  Huh  not sure where you mean. Embarrassed
