Well...all this talk about PIE made me want my second favorite pie...lemon meringue.  But of course with only my husband and me at home, I'm not going to make a whole pie...not to mention the SEWING TIME that would waste.  HA!     So, we were at the grocery store the other day and I saw a new item (to me anyway).  It was from Jello.  It was a "specialty" type thing in the refrigerated section--"lemon meringue pie" jello.  They also had chocolate cream pie, some mousse thing and one or two more "special" things.  So--I grabbed up a package of the lemon meringue and figured I would give it a shot.    

Ummmm...I wish I could tell you that it was so good I would never have to make another lemon meringue pie.  But...no.  It tasted like chemicals.  I like my lemon meringue pie to be fairly tart.  Not tart enough to leave me puckered up after eating it, but enough to get my attention.  No such luck here.  It was kind of...hmmm...just THERE...and like I said, chemically tasting.  So, the package contained 3 individual servings.  I'm taking the other two to work.  SOMEONE there will eat them.  Those people eat ANYTHING that doesn't bite them first.     Oh well...so much for short cuts.

Sparker, I'm with you - if it doesn't just taste wonderful, let someone else battle the calories!!   Someone gave me a piece of key lime the other day - she thought it was super.... not.  It tasted very pretend!! and it was.  I've made and eaten plenty to know the difference.  Hers came from a tall bottle, that she ended up showing us. I let the others,that were there, do the talking on this one-
