I'm a fiber artist who quilts and makes fully jointed teddy bears that are 1 inch and larger, as well as being a weaver and photographer. I've just started a business "The Drake's Nest Studio" and replicate children's artwork in fabric, fiber and quilts. My motto is "Make a Memory with your Child's Quilts." At the moment things are a little slow in getting started so to fill in my "spare" time, I'm going back to school to get my Bachelor's Degree (at 60, I just received my Associates in the Arts).

Here in the lower UP of Michigan, snowy evenings are perfect for quilting, fiber art and the like. Right now it means a little more time to get the renovations completed on the studio that my DH of 2 years has started for me. The dear heart has gutted and reworked our 16 x 26 foot one car garage so that it will be my studio, my place to get away from it all, as it were.

Looking forward to hearing what everyone else does.

Teri, you are my hero. I'm 66 (turning on the 27th to 67) and I'm learning to Trykke. I just about decided to give it up and then I read your note here. I'm going out and give it another try. LOL I also want to design and have a web site. I don't know what keeps me from it. Perhaps my day job??
