We are in an overnight hard freeze and so far the pipes are good!  Not used to this much cold.  Night before last was the first night we had freezing temp at the airport.  Wow!  The previous freeze was December 2009.  Shocked  The lowest temp for Tucson airport for 2010 was 33 degrees in early January!  Roll Eyes

Maybe we just might have a white Christmas - we never know but it does happen. Shocked

Karen you open your cabinet doors where the water pipes are to help keep the from freezing.  I am hoping for a white Christmas in Tidewater VA.

Hey, Karen, don't look now but tomorrow IS December! LOL Not only keep the cabinet door open but let the furthest faucet drip cold water all night. It really helps keep the pipes in order. Good Luck!

Roads are pretty clear most times, but goes with winter you watch what the weather is going to be like when you decide to head out.  We have 4 routes out of town, each leading to a different place.  Three of those roads are snow packed (and sometimes icy) for most of the winter.  The fourth is the "main" highway so to speak and is bare most of the winter except in extreme storms where it will take a couple of days before they get it bared off again.

Right now ... we are getting rain...NOT good!  Those 3 roads will be icy in no time if the tempature drops, as will all the side roads.  Bring on the snow I say!  Then we don't have to deal with all this ice!

shirley - we have had torrential rain all day. glad it's not snow, BUT really don't like this transition stuff! We get lots of fog and very icy here too. The main highway always has tragic accidents and closures during this season. Hubby has to travel the hwy 40 min.s each way for work Tongue

guess there's nothing to do but go back to trimming the tree Wink

I went into the grocery this morning and it was misty and just mildly chilly.  I came out and it was very very cold and sleeting!  I almost froze my hands off loading the groceries into the truck.  I was not expecting that!

This late a.m. it was raining and when I went back into the office later this afternoon it was spitting and colder. Came out just now and it was warmer and no rain. So tonight we are supposed to get that slow moving storm. LI had an earthquake today. It's on the news. Gonna light the Rockefeller Tree tonight. Rudolf is on tonight too as well as the Victoria Secret's fashion show - ahem - something for everyone. LOL Grin

I was wearing the cotton stretchy bras from there - and needed some more  (guess I just got used to them) so when I was there last time, some very young (cute, but exotic make up) gal asked to help me....... I walked out after she kept snipping & looking at me up & down like I didnt belong.................... nope, don't need that - I bought on line.  And people wonder why customers don't buy local..........
