Several years ago, one of my quilting friends in my church group shared photos of quilts she had seen at a show while on vacation in Utah. It was called the "365 Day quilt" and it was large! Each block was 4" square and there were blocks for each day of the year and a strip with each month preceded the blocks for each month. We tried to contact the owner of that quilt through but weren't successful. We were inspired by her project and decided we would "share squares" so we could make a similar quilt. Each month there were eight of us who gathered to exchange our precut 4" conversation print squares for that month. We spent a whole year laughing as we did this. Every year after that, we laughed more about how this year we are going to finish our 365 day quilts. We had talked of gathering this winter to make that happen and then one of our members passed away last summer so the project is still in the box. One day, though, I'm going to finish mine because I love all those blocks that remind me so much of my friends!
In the meantime, I started these blocks last summer and have four done. I drew crazy quilt blocks in a computer program, then use them so I can paper-piece the blocks and use my scraps. Will embellish them with stitches and buttons and then embroider appropriate holiday greetings on each block. I see them finished in 2011. LOL!

I sure hope so! I mentioned my friend Lois who is still stitching at 95 so if you subtract my age from her age, that means I have 35 years to finish that quilt! LOL! I can do it!
