I lost a little motivation when all the March strips I cut went MIA.  I have up to the 19th of march done and decided last night to just jump into April and come back to march when I am ready to re-cut everything!

Procrastination sometimes pays off.  Last Saturday we got a 13 month old border collie mix.  Her name is Jacie.  Since we don't know her exact birthday, we declared her an April Fool.  So~I'll start April's block with her b-day & May 1 for the day we got her.

Jacie reminds me of our dog, Skeeter, who joined us when he was two. We got him from the Humane Society and didn't have a birthdate for him either. When Skeeter passed away on April 22 of 2004, we didn't know it at the time, but the next day and across town a litter of beagles was born and one of them came to live with us in July of that year. When we learned that Kaiser the beagle was born on April 23, 2004, I couldn't help but think of that saying "when one door closes, another one opens". I think you are right that your procrastination paid off and Jacie was meant to come and live with you and your family. :-)  She's your May Day gift!!

This morning I sent my 3rd graders home for the summer.  Woohoo...play time for me coming!  I need to clean up/reorganize my studio, but plan on getting some sewing done while I'm working on that next week.

I've been doing other sewing since school's been out, but I did finish April's block yesterday.  I'm paper-piecing mine and have May & June ready to go so I think I'll see if I can get May's done this afternoon while accomplishing other things like the blasted laundry.

I finally got April and May all sewn up this weekend and even got June all caught up!  I think I have June done thru this coming Thursday!  YAY!  It certainly does feel good to be up-to-date FINALLY!  Now my mantra is--no more letting it sit there!  One strip per day, one strip per day!  LOL Grin

Yeah!  It is a good feeling to be cought up.  I just finished June's this morning.  Jury's out yet if I'm going to just finish since it's my summer break or continue on as I had been.

I love your fun summery fabrics in your June block, Jan!  Yes--it does feel good to be all caught up, doesn't?
