I just got the second block posted on my blog. This month's block is a Rose Wreath. I hope it is as popular as last month's block. I think you guys will love it when it all comes together.

I loved stitching the eagle, and I can't wait to tackle the rose wreath. This will be my first chance to use the 1/2 inch bias tape maker. Applique is so addicting, yet it is also therapeutic. Thanks Dawn (and Pat for hosting the discussion board). ~NancyG

Great BOM and great blog DHeese. I love 1800's fabrics and have lots of them. Hmmmmm..........
When you do needle turn do you use freezer paper method or another way? I always like to learn new methods.

I make my templates from freezer paper, iron to the Right side of the fabric and trace with chalk pencil. This gives me a clear line to turn under. Also, I am very lazy and don't do anymore prep work than absolutely necessary. How many of you are using faric from your stash?

Red, white and blue......that sounds great! Wish I had thought of that. I'm definitely using my stash. I have tons of Civil War fabrics that I have been collecting and using for a long time. I currently have the circle stem on block 2! Can't seem to put this down. Can't pinpoint why. Guess I'm just the kind of quilter who needs several projects going at once. It will be a long wait for me for block3!

Oh, Denise, I forgot to mention that I picked up your book and love it! Very nice job. I love the way you overdyed the fabric. I am definitely going to keep that in mind. Looking forward to your next one!

Pat, to be honest I draw that line with whatever is laying on my table and within reach. However, I only tell people I use chalk so if they have a mishap they don't yell at me. Glad to hear everyone is using their stash and not buying up stuff. Keep it free girls. This pattern is great for Americana colors, but I am excited to see what everyone comes up with. Billie, thanks for the nice review of the book. The new book will be a little bigger and have more projects. I am feeling pretty good about it.
