I'm in for the UFO busting. Maybe I can use some of these for gifts this year?Huh I need to get them outtahere. I'm the boss so writing a note to myself won't work. Maybe laying it on DH's desk will work?  LOL I'm in. Grin

OK, I'm going to pull them out and put them in order of to be done, BUT Pat, I can't give anything away. I don't know why I'm this way, but I do give finished projects away. I'm not selfish, really, I'm not, but I can't give up perfectly good partially finished projects that I actually paid money for.  Cry So what is wrong with me? I am going to have a rude awakening with this sorting thing. Also I'm REALLY glad you are not counting planned projects. I have a few of those also, er umm, maybe more than a few. LOL  Huh

I agree with Sharon - LOVE that patterns and fabric piles don't count! Grin
I went through my pile awhile ago to make a list of what was there, but Pat's list is much more tactical. I might actually get to see half of my closet again. Wink
What about. . .that project of blocks that I put somewhere so I can't see it? Blocks I did with my sister that was supposed to be a quilt for my daughter. Maybe I'll sort those blocks into 2 piles and make 2 smaller quilts. Hard to part with that pile of guilt! I"m gonna need some chocolate for this Smiley

Ooooh...yes, chocolate, good plan.  Thank you for the idea.  Chocolate just might help us through this.  And I'm with all of you.  I'm SO glad that piles of fabric with a pattern stuck with it does NOT count as a project in progress or UFO.  I would REALLY be in trouble then.  Someone on this list had a good name for those types of projects, but I can't remember what it was...it was really cute, tho...

I'm in also!     Did I miss what todo with the quilts that are an ongoing project?       I have several of those.   I have already purchased all the monthly blocks and working on them just very slowly......     This really has me excited to get going.
Thanks for Tip #1

Oh my gosh do I have a job when I get home from work LOL   Hmm boss isn't in today...maybe will leave early  Grin

Sparker...you talking about "PIGS"  ... projects in grocery sacks??? LOL  Yup, have LOTS of those too ready to go.  But the real UFO's... OH - MY - GOODNESS!  off to read the blog and print....seems I have to stay focused when I get home.  Hope DH is making supper  Roll Eyes

Sharon, I hear yah on the on the not giving away, therefore I plan to re-cut and use in scrap quilts in useable sections.   Although the last sorting of them I did (months ago!) I did throw some out and gave fabric to someone else, but it was a "what the heck was I thinking" project....not one that was near and dear to me so it was slightly easier to give away.

Happy UFO hunting everyone!!

True confessions here. .. .

I am working at finishing up some things before Tuesday so I don't need to put them on a list! Is that bad? Or good Smiley

I'm also wondering Pat about a UFO swap or just simply posting ones to giveaway. Is that bad - to give your UFO to another quilter with the same issue? Grin

I must admit to having a few pieces around that I feel bad about giving away, but completely stumped on as what to do with anymore! I won a quilt top from Quiltmaker last year {thought I was just winning the fabric!} I like it, but it's just sitting here.

I'll post photos later once I actually get into my closet! Smiley

Shirley - love the C category - I found a bunch of Christmas projects that I kind of work on a bit each Christmas. Would be nice to finish those to get new ones going!

Sarah Vee--I have to say, your idea of a UFO swap sounds intriguing...although it might be a bit enabling!  HAHA!  However...there is that saying...what's one man's(quilter's) trash is another's treasure!   Cheesy

Sparker - Enabling - that's the word I was looking for!
Yes, I agree. About the enabling and the trash to treasure.  Wink

Okay, I found 19 UFO's.  These do not include tops that are finished but not quilted.  Those are in the quilt studio and will be quilted when customer quilts allow.

Eek!  I did not think that I had quite that many!

Group A has 6
Group B has one.  I've made 4 blocks out of 9.  I'm going to make a pillow from these 4 blocks and call it done!
Group C has 7
Group D has 2
Group E has 3.

WowW What a great topic Wink I had already started working on my UFO's back in August, when I was trfd. to Charlotte & now have a quilting studio there with living quarters attached (apartment) Ha!Ha. Been out of touch for awhile, but love this group. Still need to pull more UFO's out of their hiding places & get them listed. Pat you are truly an inspiration & also an enabler. This will take massive doses of chocolate with a little wine on the side! But we can do this. One step at a time. I like the idea of a 12 step program. Project collectors unite!
