I want to make the Christmas gifts for my family this year. I can always come up with ideas for the girls, but the guys are always a stumper. So far the only thing I've come up with is flannel sleeping pants. Anyone have any other quick ideas?

My mom made big giant bibs with velcro closures in the back for all the guys. My DH actually uses his (at home) when he runs home for lunch to protect his work shirts.
Also, she has made big shoe bags in plaid fabric for them to pack their shoes for traveling. She has also made golf shoe bags out of golf fabric.

The bib is a great idea Cindy! My DH has been after me to make him a "spaghetti" bib for years. Guess I really should make him one.

What a GREAT question Linda! I'll put a 'priority' notice out to see if people have some ideas!!
A thought I have is duffel bags, 'guy type' grocery bags. Gregg only likes the black grocery bag we have.. not the lime green.. hehe!!!
Maybe fleece scarves or ear warmers?

One year I made the guys pillows for the couch with a pocket for the remote. I used fabric of their favorite team. You could also do sports themed fleece throws. Or just plaid if they are like my hubby and wouldn't know the Cowboys from the Yankees...LOL What about a quilted checkboard complete with checkers. That's what I am planning for my grandkids... Fleece scarves.. Nancy quilt@centurytel.netwww.withthreadinhand.blogspot.com

How about luggage tags for someone who travels or even for a briefcase? Also an insulated lunch bag for those who carry and in these economic times who doesn't?

Ties - One year I gave my husband and my son (around 6 yrs old) matching ties. If he is a traveler how about shoe bags for in his suitcase.

Last year I made all of the guys a pillowcase in their favorite sports team. They loved them!

I made my son-in-law a nascar laptop quilt and he is really possessive about it. Made a quilt for the ex with forrest animals on it and he put it on the bed in his motorhome. Now all the guys want one. Anything that holds a remote is always welcome.

something simple and quick is a draft dodger. measure the bottom of the door and mark it on your fabric. roll the ends around foam tubes and sew. slip it under the door with a tube on both sides. it opens and closes with the door and keeps out the drafts. this is my sil's favorite thing, and we live in phoenix. imagine if we ever had snow.

I just rec'd a 'custom order' request for father/daughter matching crocheted donut ornaments in their favorite flavors - sure didn't see that one coming!
If any of you want something similar, let me know - I'll have the crochet stuff out anyway, might as well make more! (convo me)

It's DECEMBER! I also need some more thoughts for the guys on my list. I've made Tic Tac Toe games and Nativity Puppets for my Sons to play with their Children. Done the pajama bottoms too. Maybe this is a Pillowcase year. Mary C./ Quiltingrandma

I do need to make a few scarves, but working on clearing off my kitchen island so I can lay it out. In case you haven't made one you probably need 1 7/8 (2yds) of HOMESPUN - cut on bias - they are beautiful and warm!

Hello, After you cut the homespun on the bais, then what do you do next. Wonder what else I could use? We don't get homespun here. I was wondering what i can get fabric to make ladies crinkle scarves. I need to get the city and look around our 2 fabric shops.
Cheers Ann
