I have started the Lion Brand's "Essential Jacket" pattern.  It's a crochet pattern--very, very easy.  I've finished the back and the right front--and I only started it Tuesday evening!  This is a record for me! Shocked  I might actually finish this one and be able to wear it this spring before it gets too warm.  LOL

Got a Martingale Catalog yesterday in the mail. NAYY In it there is a book for templates for knitting like jackets. Has anyone tried this sort of book? Just wondering since I can't seem to fit into regular patterns. My friend has a broad back and also has a problem even buying sweaters. There were also some cute quilt books in there a a baby crochet book. Don't you just want to make baby things when you see such cute samples? Going to touch fabric now. Grin

sorry Sharon I don't know about using templates in knitting, but you can enlarge patterns by adding extra stitches, you need to do a swatch so you know how many stitches to the inch that you are getting.

Barb, you might want to check this book out.  It's one of the few that I've seen that is a "recipe" type of thing for knitting sweaters.

I've been doing 1 or 2 crochet rows at a time on my Mom's pink parfait afghan.  I have one giant ball left to add to it...

it's been very relaxing since I don't have a hand applique project to work on and I don't need good lighting to crochet!

i did some crochet last night on my mom's piece.. only 1/2 skein of yarn left and it's done! Then I'll start something else as side projects... like this mindless stuff.. maybe use the same stitch and do another in another variagated thread since this worked out so great!

I enjoy crocheting even though I can knit.  Trying to find patterns for prayer shawls and also for a boys sweater is sizes of about 10 and 12 and for a 2 yr old boy.  They don't seem to be easy.  Thought of converting a girls pattern for a boy but just does not seem to look right.

Have you seen the new hooks out there that light up?
