Love the scarf, Laurie, it is so cute.  Perfect scene with your model too.

Remember, back in the 50's-60's the broomhandle knitting?  Actually supposed to take a length of broom handle (12-18") and use that as your needle.  (My mother told me about it -- you too?Huh)  No way I'd have been old enough in the 50's.   Wink Wink

I did the broom stick knitting and do you remember the hoop thing to make the lace on it? I can't remember exactly what that was about, but I have the thing. Smiley

Jacque, I made some of those broomstick afgans in the late 70's. A coworker taught me how to do it. Wonder what I did with them? I worked nights in OB for a while. Not allowed to sleep, so if everyone was quiet had to do something.

Be sure to check out the new Joann's flyer for Feb 12 - there is a bicycle covered in yarn.  So cute!  Love the crochet flowers on the basket. Cheesy

Any one of you see my kids book of sweaters???  I was with the sweater I was knitting last year but now it has gone astray!   Guess I have to go check my quilting mags as it may have put away with them by mistake.   But what direction do I go first?? Shocked Shocked

Shirley, I feel your pain.  I do the same thing.  As a result - in a 5 stitches by 5 rows pattern, I could have 4 rows or 6 rows of a pattern instead of 5.  It's a really loud variegated yarn, so it doesn't seem to matter - much!

Shirley, Hope that book turns up soon. Have you listened closely for the giggling Huh What's the least likely place it would be Huh Start there. I'd tell you to ask Wanda, but she's off traveling right now.

It's been awhile since I touched my granny squares & they keep looking at me very accusingly too. By the time I stop at night, I'm to tired to work on them. It's not like they are going anywhere, they're just sitting there waiting for me. sigh........ Undecided

I keep telling myself, I'll stop for just 1 hour in the afternoon & work on some hand projects. Never happens. Why do we not think that handwork deserves its just time too Huh
