I'm actually a knitter who learned how to quilt (watching lots of Simply Quilts).  I teach knitting at my local yarn shop (2 nights a week) and now I'm also addicted to fabric and quilting.  I started quilting about 3 years ago and my first quilt was from Alex Anderson's Learn to Quilt book (before I'd ever heard of Pat Sloan).

I think there is a HUGE cross over of knitters and quilters..  I LOVE yarn but don't do much with it .... crochet is my preferred yarn method!

I'm a quilter that plays with soap.  Smiley

I am a soapmaker and also make homemade lotions.  The hobby has morphed into a business and now pays me back so that is nice.   Smiley

I also like mixed media/altered books but don't do enough of that.  I need to work more there.  I love to read the books, magazines, and blogs but when I play I'm not as happy with my work.  So must get to learning more hands-on.

what no scrapbookers?  Wink
I am a quilter who tries to find time to scrapbook. I also knit a little, mostly felted bags and slippers, but usually that is for winter tv watching.
My hubby has just left on a 5 day bike trip and when I am not working I will be sewing my little heart out all week!!!!

I like to make cards, too.  In July, I always take all the Christmas card classes.  I just had one this morning.  We made the cutest cards.  Then I have a big card class Sunday afternoon.  We are supposed to make 12 cards Sunday.  Then I should have all my Christmas cards done!

I'm also a knitter/crocheter - mostly felted handbags, socks, scarves, hats, and afghans.... but I like to crochet, too - check out my crocheted chocolate donut pincushions on my etsy website:  www.tajefcoat.etsy.com

I think I need sharper pictures, but its a start....   Huh  feedback welcome.

I have been a yarn-a-holic for over 40 years - my friends used to give me all their leftovers and I made ponchos & pillows & afghans.  Recently I've started making leggings, wristlets, socks and pincushions!

can't have enough pincushions! how do you fill a 'yarn made' pincushion? Do you have to felt it first?

I make a muslin bag and fill that, I love pincushions
If you used felted wool I think that would be fine.

that makes sense! The wool flower pincushion the LizzieB Creative girls gave me does not have a lining.. but it's felted wool off the bolt and super tight... wondered how yard did!

i still have that crochet project to finish up and felt to see how it works... Thea mentioned that to me today!
