I started stitching my applique. I stitched the tongues around the edge first. I just used a variegated thread so I could continuously stitch all the way around. I'm using matching thread on the center hearts. I'm thinking of using the variegated again on the flowers and leaves so I won't be changing thread so much. I'll decide soon.

i stitched the tongues last night, and started some of the teal. But decided on on piece the tea thread that is perfect for the stems is not perfect for that leaf fabric. Right now I'm NOT unstitching that leaf.. but might have to... going to force myself to leave it until the end than see what I think!

I'm hoping to get back to the heart soon too-but I seem to have so much going on -might have to concentrate on getting some Christmas gifts started! It'll be here before we know it.

Pat can you just go over the thread you don't like with thread you do? Use a heavier thread, maybe?

i could do that Sharon but then it would be darker than the others.. I think it will end up being ok to leave it!
Deb I stopped making Christmas gifts.. just not fun anymore! I make gifts that people get 'when ever' instead! That way 'no deadline'!!

I don't make Christmas gifts any more either. Everyone gets $$ to buy what they want and I usually have 1-3 quilts to give - only 3 more who don't have quilts and then I can start over! Have SIL's Moose quilt ready for quilter when she gets back to town and then quillows for the 2 GGKs to match the pillow shams I made for them last year.

I know what you mean-it's a lot of work. the only one I am actually doing this year is my daughter asked me to make her a "cupcake" quilt for her bed. We started collecting small pieces of cupcake fabrics a while ago, with the intention that SHE would make something. There are so many cupcake fabrics on the market the past couple of years. So now she says, can I do it for her as a Christmas present instead! I found one fabric that is a dark brown covered in chocolate cupcakes, so it appears almost solid. I am going to use that for sashing. So it will kind of be like a scrap quilt, but all cupcakes. Hopefully it will look halfway decent! Other than that , I don't think I am making anything, except I usually make all the kids (mine and nieces/nephew) an ornament of some kind with the year and their names on it. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.

I like the idea of just givig moey. But I have three women (sister's of my DD's deceased first sp.) that I give something usually handmade by me each year. They are wonderfully supportive women when my DD needed support the most. I can't give them money. I just can't think of what to give them this year. One yr. I did give them booze (LOL) cause they are Jersey Girls for sure. Maybe fleece throws that I can practice my feathers on. Hmmm.

I've quilted for customers many hours today, the laundry is all washed, dried, folded and put away, chili is simmering on the stove for supper. I'm slinking away to my sewing machine for some ME time!
I'm going to stitch a little on my heart quilt! Finally!

I just did my workout, now I'm too tired for anything else. I do have to ride in to work with hubby in a few hours, and help him do inventory.
