Oh good another FIU challenge.... I will finish putting borders on the bars of gold quilt... and I might work on the quilt along I did last year with crazy mom quilts where I stopped after making the 70 9 patches. I can make some progress on my FAR behind calendar quilt.... and finish the D4P tablerunner I started last weekend. I love all the encouragement here on this mashup!!! Yes....we can do it!!!

Yes, we can do it, Caryl! Pat... huge question.... what is the difference in Aurifil Cotton Mako and Genziana Cotton Mako thread? It is cause one is 40wt and the other 50wt? I think I am going to treat myself to a few spools and want to know just what is what before hand. Thank you. Will post pics tomorrow of what I hope to get binding on.....remembered a string quilt I'm working on too and would love to have that put together so I can do the hand sewing at nite on it. It's being done quilt as you go, so when I get these together only the hand sewing will be in left to finish it! Come on Friday!!

The bugle has sounded... the campers are rolling out of bed (yes.. we campers have beds as we are fancy girls and do not do sleeping bags!).... and I can smell the coffee!! Shower and fire up those sewing machines.... and away we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See my blog today... IF YOU DARE... http://www.patsloan.typepad.comShirley let me get the thread answer for you, I do not think it is weight as I've not heard that before. I emailed Aurifil already soooo what do YOU think I should work on? Sorting my projects maybe? AFTER I find the blocks?

Shriley Aurifil and Tristan (Genziana) are two different thread companies.
Tristan is pretty much coping Aurifil but using a much lower quality of thread.
Try both and see for yourself.

Count me in ! I need to finish up cleaning the sewing area so I can work on projects. I want to work on my drunkards path with no curves sewing. Also want to plan out 4 quilts for 2 grand kids and a niece and nephew. Know what I want to do just need to pull out the fabric for them. DH has his son this weekend so I should have plenty of time to myself.

Right after breakfast I am off to the studio to clean up a few things and then put the backings together for the "Lattice Fireman" and "Turkey Tracks" so can go to quilter tomorrow. Then get my nails done and back to the studio. Fun Fun

Getting your nails done sounds like a reward for getting those two pieces to the quilter Go Karen go!!

It's raining! YAY! I won't finish it up, but I have borders to sew onto a red, white and blue star quilt, then figure out if I have enough backing materials before it goes on the frame.
Good concept for every Friday - Finish It Up! It'll take months of Fridays for me to complete it all!
Hugs, Cathy

I love this challenge. I can't even get to my machines until I clean up. Thanks for great weekend ahead. Have sorted, folded and put away 2 color groups. Taking a break and then back to work. Hubby wants me to make dinner tonight. Hee hee hee. 1-800-pizza is always good.
