I love my project bag.  It was a Christmas present from a good friend last year. It holds my current stitchery project along with thread, scissors, needles, hoop, needlethreader and bandaids (I have yet to find a thimble that I love!)

PS.  How do I add a photo to my message?  I see the little box that says INSERT IMAGE, but no where to add the link from my computer....

It tells all. Very easy

The image button you are referring to is used to create an internet link to a photo already on the web.

Yes, I was just thinking about what to pack in mine for the weekend trip to the in-laws.  They are going to want my new Arabella bag.  Yes, there will be bag envy.

Hmmmmm, just when I think I'm getting the hang of things you spring something new on me. LOL! I don't have a "project" bag if you mean hand work type projects. No traveling in my forseeable future so no need to carry work with me. I do have a bag that I am taking to the class I am in on Tues nites. Right now it just has the basic tools and stuff to get ready to have a project. Tomorrow is the first class we do anything so I just have my tools and pressed fabric. I think we are doing some kind of nine patch quilt. The teacher wants us to tie it instead of quilting so we have a finished quilt at the end of the class. I am not very fond of tied quilts so I will decide when the time comes whether I rebel or not, depends on wheter I am happy with. LOL!

My "project bag" is also a sock sack.  Fits in my purse and goes with me everywhere.  Never know when I'll have a few "waiting moments."  I don't do much hand sewing.  Sock knitting is my hand work.

What is a project bag? I have ALWAYS had one.. every since I was a kid (I STILL have that embroidery basket!).

To ME a project bag is a place you keep your things you need to do a take along project, or a project you work on in the house.

It might have the project in it like Betty's
It might just have your threads and scissors and such
It might contain embroidery, redwork, knitting, crochet, notepads, magazines, quilt projects... or more!
It might be just for the house, one for travel, one for classes.
And most of us have MANY of these wonderful 'grab and go' bags so we always have our STUFF!

And if you don't have a project bag to take something with you to the dr office, to sit in traffic, to wait for people.. than you NEED ONE!

What do you use to go to guild meetings? To go sit and sew with friends?  A tote bag is what a lot of people have. MULTIPLE ones!

So let's talk ABOUT our bag besides just 'showing' it. Explain how and why you use it!

I have four project bags in my TV room.  One for each embroidery or applique project I am currently working on.  They have the prepared blocks, fabric for later blocks, thread or floss, pattern or magazine.  I keep my needles and scissors on my chatelaine that I use for all projects.  So when I grab a bag to travel I toss in the chatelaine.

I was just noticing my chatelaine is beginning to be threadbare.  I'm going to have to dig out Pat's book with the pattern and make another one.

Thanks for the answer on how to add my photo...  I just edited my original post and added the photo to it...

I use my project bag to keep my current redwork/embroidery project in.  No matter if I am sitting on the couch, the porch or at a meeting, it's the same bag..  I even took it to retreat last week, although I never opened it up...LOL

I have multiple project bags.
First there's my applique bag... it contains a pizza box with my blocks laid out flat, a clear zippered bag with fabrics I am using on the current and upcoming block, and another zippered (blue stripe) bag that has my scissors, needles, thread, toothpicks, etc.

then there is my knitting bag...  I'm currently working on a teal afghan

last but not least is my sewing machine bag... that currently contains a mystery quilt I am working on for my guild QOV...

OOOPPSSS!   I have to go resize my photos then I'm come back and post them

How embarrassing - I can't even count how many "at home project bags" I have.  There's my new Cake Tote from the swap - that's my sweater knitting bag.  Then there's the pink plastic tote with my I Believe pieces and the white tote with my Walk in the Moonlight pieces and my basket with a crochet sweater that needs to be ripped out and the yellow bag with my bunny blocks and and and ...
