::)I am having a blast quilting this year.  Today I put the binding on my Flower Garden.  Had a "sit n sew" in July, put the 5" squares together along with yellow border.  The next day I cut it down and added meadow garden border.  Got it back from quilter and added the multi-flower pieced binding.

Cindy I never hoop my hand applique. I also don't use freezer paper as I draw my lines right onto my applique fabric then needle turn.

Are you doing freezer on top or bottom?   Give it a try without the hoop and see what you think. I rarely see people hoop applique

Sis and I are working on her OH Star quilt for her DIL. Sis and Bro. were here until Bro left yesterday for the Philly airport at o'dark o'clock. It was just great having all three of us together after 30 some years. He is a marvelous fellow and ALWAYS up and smiling. Anyway. sis decided we needed to add a block on each row for the quilt to be big enough for her queen bed. (the measurements said it would be fine with 5 but she wants 6 so 6 it is). Sis leaves Sat. and we have to have the top done by then. Why does life get in the way so much?

I was sorting out some things today and move THREE.. yes count them THREE almost done quilt tops to a bucket UNDER George my sewing machine. This is in the hope that I can spend a half hour or so working on them each day to get them finished... we'll see how it works!

What are YOU doing to move a project along?

I wanted something to Finish Up yesterday, and thought maybe my teacup blocks.  But when Rod got the box down, there were my pumpkin swap blocks from 2007.  I love fall,  orange and green are my favorite colors, and pumpkins make me smile Grin  So I put the top together yesterday, and still have to sandwich, quilt, and bind it.  But hopefully I will finish it up this coming weekend.

OK, Bro and sis are back to their homes (FL and OH). Fri. Sis decided she did not like the layout of the blocks which were all sewn in rows. She said I'm going to take it apart and switch the blocks around. I had thought we would finish the sashing and perhaps borders. I just shook my head and walked away. No more sewing on that quilt for me. Anyone else have frustration working with another on a project? Life lesson here I think. Keep quilting.
