I have read Julie & Julia and have also seen the movie.  Personally I don't feel it is a plus to have read the book first.  I liked the book, thought it was funny and interesting but was anxious for it to end.  I really liked the movie and would have liked it just as well had I not read the book.  Meryl Streep was wonderful in it.

Just finished "Best Friends Forever" by Jennifer Weiner.  It was a very enjoyable light read.

Hi gang,

Just registered, and hoping this is the old gang from the yahoo group.  I just finished Sing Them Home by Stephanie Kallos.  Beautifully written, but I'm still pondering the story and what I think about it.  Last night I started Whiteout by Ken Follett.  I am a sucker for virus books.  Go figure. . .

I have just started The Shifting Fog by Kate Morton, she is an Aussie writer but apparently it is an international bestseller according to the cover.  It is on of those books that jumps you from now and then in the past and I think it is about a love triangle and suicide in the 1920's set in england.  The first 20 or so pages have been interesting we will see how it pan's out.

Holy cow those are SCARY books!!! I was reading a Stephen King when Gregg introduced himself to me! I could only read it during the day as it gave me nightmares... LOL!

I read Christine the week before I was assigned parking lot duty at the high school where I taught!

I'm reading Mary Daheim's Bed and Breakfast Series.  Cute murder mysteries.  I think I got started because of someone's recommendation on the old list. . . .

I am currently reading Sandra Dallas'  "The Persian Pickle Club" and it's a nice light read about small town Kansas quilters in the 1930's.

Wait til you get to the twists in the plot!  Definitely makes you think.  Sandra Dallas is a master of throwing in a twist or turn that you will never see coming, but that makes perfect sense.  I've read "Persian Pickle Club" twice to track down "the answer" and still am not certain.  No spoiler...

I love all of Sandra Dallas's books, but especially "PPC", "The Dairy of Mattie Spencer", and "Alice's Tulips".  I do have a couple that I haven't started yet so that favorites list may change!

I went to see Julie and Julia with some girlfriends and it was wonderful!  I'd like to see it again and read the book.  Sandi in Al

Some of you may remember reading Savannah Breeze by Mary Kay Andrews?  A friend sent me this link.  It's a house MKA has rehabbed and rents out in SC.  I thought you might enjoy seeing it:  http://www.breezeinncottage.com/
